A: Start by reviewing the 5 Pillars on our homepage. Pillars A - D each have 5 courses. Pillar E has 4 free social & compliance courses. If unsure, email enrol@eswatiniskills.org with your job title and goals - we'll recommend the best match within 1 business day.
A: Most ECSA courses are open-entry. We recommend basic computer skills (email, file management, web browsing). No prior construction knowledge is required - all courses start with fundamentals. If you're unsure about a specific course, contact our team.
A: Paid courses (Pillars A - D) range from E 1,200 to E 3,500 depending on length and CPD points. Check individual course cards on the courses section for exact pricing. Pillar E courses (Gender-Based Violence, ERS Compliance, Mental Health, and ENPF Compliance) are completely free. Corporate discounts available for teams of 5+.
A: We accept bank transfer, mobile money (MTN, Eswatini Mobile), and cash at our ECOT Mbabane operations desk. Corporate invoicing available for organizations. All payments use a reference number for tracking.
A: Most courses are 3 weeks from enrollment to completion. You work at your own pace online, with contact sessions at ECOT Mbabane Campus. Learners can complete the programme in 3 weeks on a blended schedule.
A: We recommend attending at least 3 of 4 sessions for best learning outcomes and to meet your certification requirement. All sessions are recorded, so if you miss one, you can watch the video asynchronously and submit a written reflection.
A: You can re-attempt once. If you score below 80% on the second attempt, schedule a 1-on-1 call with your trainer to review the material and clarify concepts before a final attempt.
A: Yes. Each course awards 10 - 25 CPD points (depending on course). You'll receive a CPD statement upon completion, which you can submit to CIC or your employer for professional development records.
A: Absolutely. Your certificate is emailed as a high-quality PDF immediately upon completion. Print it on cardstock (160 - 200 gsm) using a color printer. Instructions are provided in your completion email.

A: Yes. Alumni get 15% off their next course for 12 months post-completion. Organizations enrolling 5+ learners receive 10 - 20% volume discount. Email admin@eswatiniskills.org to discuss. Additionally, completing any Pillar E free course with a score of 70% or above earns you an automatic 15% discount on your next paid ECSA course.
A: Yes, up to 30 days after enrollment. Contact enrol@eswatiniskills.org to request a deferral. Your payment remains valid; you'll be enrolled in the next cohort of the same course.
Prerequisites by Pillar
Pillar A: Deliver Projects (Contract & Claim Management)
- 2+ years experience in construction project management, procurement, or contracts
- Basic understanding of contract terms and site operations
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Recommended: FIDIC or JBCC contract familiarity
Pillar B: Run the Business (Project Planning & Cost Control)
- 1+ years experience in project planning, scheduling, or cost estimation
- Comfort with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
- Basic understanding of project phases and budgeting
- Recommended: Familiarity with MS Project, Primavera, or similar planning tools
Pillar C: Build Sustainably (Quality, Safety, Environment)
- 1+ years experience on construction sites or in quality/safety roles
- Understanding of site safety basics
- Willingness to learn inspection and documentation procedures
- Recommended: Familiarity with BuildRight or similar safety standards
Pillar D: Lead & Grow (Leadership & Business Development)
- 2+ years in construction supervisory or management role
- Experience managing teams or business operations
- Interest in business growth, grants, and organizational development
- Recommended: Exposure to SMME challenges or contractor business models
Pillar E: Social & Compliance - FREE Courses
All four Pillar E courses are completely free and open to everyone. No prerequisites required.
